Moustaki: Avec ma gueule de métèque…

Mi-am trait adolescenta ascultandu-i pe Brel, Brassens, Moustaki, Barbara, Greco, Ferre, Aznavour, Montand. M-am identificat cu acel metec, “Juif errant si patre grecque”. Eram copil cand am auzit prima data “Milord”, cantecul scris de Moustaki pentru Edith Piaf. Citesc azi in New York Times:

“His philosophy was reflected in his 1973 song “Declaration”: “I declare a permanent state of happiness and the right of everyone to every privilege. I say that suffering is a sacrilege when there are roses and white bread for everyone.”

Je déclare l’état de bonheur permanent
Et le droit de chacun à tous les privilèges.
Je dis que la souffrance est chose sacrilège
Quand il y a pour tous des roses et du pain blanc.
